KUSA - On this Mother's Day weekend, I'm looking forward to an amazing opportunity.
As my daughters get taller by the day, and the time is flying by in their childhoods, I am choosing to take on a work schedule that balances better with my life at home.
I have loved being a part of Colorado's best morning team for 18 years. Loved it! When my daughters Josie and Eliza were younger, the juggling was a a bit easier. But now, as the girls get more involved in activities and the school work becomes more significant, I know it is time for me to be around more for them.
My husband Chris and I are blessed with two very active girls. It is up to us to guide them into becoming the most happy and successful young ladies possible.
I was offered the opportunity to continue anchoring Colorado's No. 1 morning show when my current contract ends this summer. After lots of prayer and consideration of what is best for my family, I asked for a change.
9NEWS has graciously agreed to a new schedule that will allow me to start the day with my family and stay up until everyone is settled at night. I am excited that my alarm clock won't be going off at 1 a.m.!
I will continue to anchor the 11 a.m. and noon newscasts on 9NEWS. I will also produce interview segments and stories that will air during the 9NEWS morning show. I will be engaging on our social media platforms and looking forward to meeting you at community events.
This all will take effect July 7. Until then, I will continue to be with you all from 4:30 to 9 a.m.
I am grateful to 9NEWS for loyalty. I adore my co-workers for inspiring me every day. I appreciate each and every viewer who has welcomed me into their home every morning for 18 years. Thank you!
The start of each day holds so much promise. There's nothing like it. Here's to many, many happy mornings for you all!
