Victoria Sanchez is excited to be a part of the 9NEWS team in Denver as a reporter.

She moved to Colorado in June 2015 from Santa Barbara, Calif.

Victoria worked at KEYT NewsChannel 3 in Santa Barbara and KCOY/KKFX Central Coast News in Santa Maria as an anchor and general assignment reporter.

She is a four-time Radio and Television News Association Golden Mike winner and a three-time Emmy nominated journalist.

Her stories have aired on shows such as Good Morning America, The Doctors and CNN. She's also spoken on international radio and television shows regarding the tragic mass murder in Isla Vista, Calif.

Victoria is a proud University of Southern California graduate with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. While working as a public information officer for a department at the County of Santa Barbara, she earned her master's degree in Public Administration.

Victoria loves to try new things. On a whim, she began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, signing up for multiple competitions and taking the silver medal at the American International Jiu-Jitsu Championship. She's been skydiving once and will never do it again! But it was a fear she overcame.

While in college, a dream came true after being called to "Come On Down!" at the Price is Right with Bob Barker. Donning a red USC sweater, she won a couch, car and spun $1 on the big wheel.

She's looking forward to new adventures in Colorado.
