Construction will soon start on a gigabit-speed internet network in Centennial’s Willow Creek neighborhood, according to Ting, an internet service provider building off a city-owned fiber optic network.

The Flint, Michigan-based company announced Thursday which Centennial neighborhood it will start building its gigabit-speed network first, choosing Willow Creek based on residents’ pre-order requests, the company said.

“Demand for our service is an easy way for residents to influence where we build next,” said Monica Webb, Ting’s director of market development and government affairs.

The company says work on the project will start this month.
