Meteorologist Becky Ditchfield joined 9NEWS in June 2007. The St. Louis, Mo. native made her way to Denver from Little Rock, Ark. where she was a meteorologist for KTHV-TV.
Before that, Becky worked as a meteorologist for a television station in Hastings, Neb. Becky likes to travel but her favorite place is the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Becky has been interested in the weather ever since she was little. She used to be scared of thunderstorms, but when she got older, that fear turned into curiosity. Since calculus and physics were Becky's best subjects in high school, she decided on Meteorology as a major in college.
Becky graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana with a B.S. degree in Meteorology. She also holds minors in both math and broadcasting and is a member of both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.
Becky got married in October 2010. In 2014, they grew to a family of four! She and her husband, daughter and son enjoy being able to take their dog, Cooper, on the many trails throughout Colorado. Their cat, Cody, on the other hand, prefers taunting the dog from the comforts of home.
Becky also loves anything that has to do with sports. She's a huge Cardinals, Rams, and Blues fan and can usually be found near a television cheering her team on. However, now that she calls Denver home, Becky says she's added a few more favorite sports teams to that list.
When she's not screaming at the television, Becky also enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering as an advisor for the Chi Omegas at The University of Denver and working on home projects.
