If you’ve lived in Colorado for a while, you know all about the Studio C tradition.
Every year, KBCO puts out a CD featuring musicians that is recorded live in their studio.
It’s always some of the top artists in the country, and thousands of people line up to buy the CD’s – many of which are collectors.
This year is the 29th year, and Volume 29 does not disappoint.
Starting Saturday at 8 a.m., the discs go on sale at select Whole Foods locations.
There are 18 tracks, featuring some of the hottest rock and roll songs of the year.
The CD includes Nathaniel Rateliff, Portugal the Man, The Head and the Heart, X Ambassadors, Jack Johnson and The Lumineers, to name a few.
On the 9NEWS morning show Friday, KBCO afternoon host Keefer talked about the radio station’s tradition and clout.
It’s why so many of the groups love performing live on the radio there – and why the CD is so popular.
As always, the proceeds from KBCO Studio C CD goes to charity, the Food Bank of the Rockies and Boulder County AIDS Project.
