The Washington Post is asking, "How many hours of your life have you wasted on work email?"
There's a calculator in the article online.
It asks for the age you started working, the age you're expected to retire and the number of times you actually interrupt what you're doing to check your work inbox.
It will then tell you how many hours you'll spend reading and writing work emails in your lifetime, the hours you'll spend distracted by email interruptions, and the percentage of your career you'll spend on all things email.
