Hey, may we make a recommendation for someone else's awesome work, outside of 9NEWS?
Holiday shopping deals are often front and center at the start of the holiday season. But we thought it would be nice to share an idea about how to take a break from the holiday craziness and give back.
The Colorado Freedom Memorial needs some help. Organizers plan to light a battery-operated candle for each fallen Colorado veteran, whose name is on the memorial - 6,023 of them to be exact.
A third grade class from Indian Ridge Elementary will be placing the candles at the memorial on Thursday.
Volunteers are needed to turn them on that night, and each night after that through Saturday night.
There are two shifts for each day - one from 3:45 to 5 p.m. and another from 7:45 to 9 p.m. The memorial is located at 756 Telluride Street in Aurora.
Check out the Memorial's page for more information about how you can sign up.
If you're not able to volunteer, you can stop by just to see the Lighting Their Way Home display from 5 to 8 each night.
