A sibling competition - just three seconds apart. Twin sisters faced off in the Transamerica Rock 'n' Roll Denver half marathon Sunday and they finished 1st and 2nd in the race.

Elvin Kibet won the women's division, running the 13.1 miles in 1:15:22. Her sister, Valentine, finished 1:15:25.

The sisters are natives of Kenya, but now live in Colorado Springs where Elvin tells Next they are training with Coach Scott Simmons with the American Distance Project.

Elvin says Sunday's race was her first half marathon - ever. She and her sister had been had been training together since May.

Elvin expects to race Valentine more now that she is doing longer distances. Before Sunday, she had only raced in 5k and 10k races.

Kibet says it has always been her dream to run against one of her sisters.

And if you're not impressed yet, she has three other sisters who are professional distance runners, and a brother who runs on the collegiate level.

She hopes one day to race even more of her siblings, but for now her next move is to race in the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas half marathon next month, and the San Jose Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving.

Valentine will be running a 5K race in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thanksgiving.
