The city of Denver is officially in the holiday spirit as the lights on the city and county building were ceremoniously lit Friday night.
After a bit of a dramatic pause, the lights came on to the delight of the huge crowd. Thanks to the warmer than usual weather, Civic Center Park was full of people who came out to listen to live holiday music and watch the dancing light display.
The lights will be on from 6 to 11 p.m. through January 22 - with light shows nightly at 5:45 and 6:30 (except during City Council meetings on Mondays).
For those wanting to capture pictures of the lights, you might want to check them out on Sundays - that's when the city will shut off nearby street lights to give you the best picture.
