It’s Oct. 31. The leaves are a beautiful yellow and orange, the air is crisp, children are frolicking in Halloween costumes as they adorably search for candy, and Santa and his reindeer have already taken their seasonal perch at the Denver City and Council Building.

That’s not a joke. It’s Halloween and a 9NEWS producer spotted Christmas decorations at the City and County building.

Maybe they’re going for a “Nightmare Before Christmas” theme? Or, even more meta, perhaps the Christmas decorations in October ARE the nightmare before Christmas?

In addition to Santa and his friends, we also spotted the Nutcracker and a candy cane, proving that these decorations are probably on purpose.

These Christmas decorations were spotted on Halloween in Denver. Is it too soon? (yes ... probably)

In conclusion, Happy Halloween! And Merry Christmas!
