The hit musical about a young girl dreaming of the perfect wedding in a beautiful, small town in Greece is finally here in Denver.

Mamma Mia! premiered Tuesday night in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Buell Theatre.

The two-and-a-half-hour production is packed with energy and promises to entertain audiences with stunning performances showcasing ABBA’s greatest hits.

For Cashelle Butler – who plays Tanya in the production – coming to Denver means coming home.

Butler attended Cherry Creek High School and Cherokee Trail High before attending the University of Colorado. She’s been on the road with the production since 2015.

Butler joined 9NEWS at noon to talk about her lifetime love of musicals, and how it feels to be back in her home state.

We also chatted with Butler in a Facebook Live Wednesday morning.
