The Denver area, which is home to some of the largest and most successful fast-casual restaurants in the country, is incubating at least three more that appear ready to burst onto the scene, according to one of the country’s leading restaurant-industry publications.

QSR magazine, which covers the quick-service eatery sector, on Monday released its first-ever “ 40/40 List” — a collection of 40 fast-casual restaurants with fewer than 40 units that could become the next Chipotle Mexican Grill or Boston Market or Noodles & Co. — all national restaurant chains that are headquartered in the metro area.
