15 places to start your Easter egg hunting this weekend

Easter may be April 1, but several churches and recreation centers are hosting Easter Egg Hunts the weekend prior. That means young egg seekers can participate in multiple hunts this year, honing their egg finding skills to perfection. There’s even one for adults only (though you are allowed to behave in a childish way).

Here’s what’s on the schedule for Saturday, March 24:

Apex Easter Egg Hunt - 11 a.m. sharp - Games and fun start at 10 a.m. Located at the southeast portion of Stenger Soccer Complex. Arrive early and bring a basket. 11200 W. 58th Ave., Arvada.

Belmar’s Roaming Easter Bunny - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. - The Easter Bunny will be roaming the streets of Belmar along W. Alaska Ave. and S. Teller St. Families are welcome to snap selfies (as well as of their pets) with Mr. B. Lakewood.

Brighton Egg Dash - noon - Egg hunt begins at 12:15 p.m. Meet the Easter Bunny. Brighton Park, 555 N. 11th Ave., Brighton.

Chick-fil-A Belmar Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt - 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. - Visit with the Cow, make crafts, get your face painted, and maybe even spot the Easter bunny. Four different egg hunts for different age groups. 9 a.m. for under 3, 9:30 a.m. for 3-5 years, 9:45 a.m. for 9-12 years, 10 a.m. for 5-8 years. 565 S. Vance St., Lakewood.

Commerce City Adult Easter Egg Hunt - 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Easter fun for adults, 21+. Free beer, great prizes, food trucks and neighborhood competitions. Sign up here. Fronterra Park, 10020 Joplin St., Commerce City.

Crossroads Church – Thornton Egg Hunt - 9:30 a.m & 11 a.m. - Candy, door prizes and a show. 53 East 128th Ave, Thornton.

Crossroads Church – Northglenn Campus Egg Hunt - 3 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. - Candy, door prizes and a show. 10451 Huron St., Northglenn.

Deer Creek Church Eggstravaganza - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Egg hunt for PreK/Elementary age children, petting zoo, bounce house, obstacle course and a screening of Disney Pixar’s “Finding Nemo.” 8131 S. Pierce St., Littleton.

Englewood Great Egg Scramble - 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Hunt starts at 10 a.m. sharp - Hop on over to Belleview Park and unleash your youngster (ages 1 to 8) among the candy and prizes. Lafayette Parks and Recreation Easter Egg Hunt - 10 a.m. sharp - Ages 1-8. Bring your own basket. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos. Waneka Lake Park 1600 Caria Drive, Lafayette.

Town of Mead Easter Egg Hunt - 10 a.m. - Held at Founders Park, this fun event has different Easter Egg Hunts for different ages. 3-4 at 10 a.m.; 0-2 at 10:15 a.m.; 5-7 at 10:30 a.m.; 8-12 at 10:45 a.m.; and 13+ at 11 a.m. Founders Park at the corner of 9th St. & CR 34 1/2, Mead, 970-805-4187.

Stapleton Egg Scramble - 10 a.m. to noon - Festivities at Runway 35 Pool and Park area. Start times: 10:15 a.m. for ages up to 5 (one adult must accompany child), 10:30 a.m. for children 6 and older. Bring your own bag or basket. Limit of 10 eggs per person.

Target - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Kids’ Hatchimals Scavenger Hunt at most stores. Children can pick up a free basket, decorate it at the craft table and join in a storewide hunt for Hatchimals CollEGGtibles and treats. While supplies last.

Victory Church Easter Egg Hunt - 10 a.m. - Face painting, bounce houses and prizes. 11777 Sheridan Blvd., Westminster.

Wheat Ridge Easter Egg Hunt - 9:45 a.m. sharp - Kids’ egg hunt with more than 4,000 eggs covering the grass at Panorama Park, meet-n-greet and photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny and Easter basket prize drawings. W. 35th Ave., & Fenton St., Wheat Ridge.
