Every day, the Dumb Friends League spends $28,000 to take care of homeless dogs, cats, small mammals and horses.

You can help them continue their mission of compassionate care just by taking your dog for a walk!

Sign up for the annual Furry Scurry, which will take over Washington Park again in 2017 on May 6. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m.

In 2016, the Dumb Friends League saved more than 19,000 animals. The non-profit relies on community generosity through events such as the Furry Scurry to continue their mission.

Now in its 24th year, the Furry Scurry is a two-mile walk around Wash Park in Denver, with refreshments, food trucks, contests, doggie demonstrations and more after the walk.

The organization's goal is to raise $1 million at the 2017 event.

Registration for the Furry Scurry is $50 per person or $25 for youth 14 and younger. It includes a Furry Scurry event T-shirt.

Participants can register as an individual, or form or join a team. Registration can be completed online at FurryScurry.org, at one of the Dumb Friends League shelter locations, or on event day beginning at 7:30 a.m.
