A high school secretary got the surprise of a lifetime Wednesday morning.

Harasi M. works at Mead High School and when she entered the break room the Colorado Lottery Prize Surprise crew was waiting there with a huge check for $1 million.

Harasi was overcome with emotion as her colleagues cheered and clapped, some of whom still believed it was an elaborate prank.

She was randomly chosen from more than 300,000 entries in the Colorado lottery's second chance drawing. Her non-winning Torrent of Wealth Scratch ticket ended up making her rich.

When asked how a million dollars might change her life, Harasi said, “I would like to tip the waiters more.”

She plans to visit her daughter, who is a doctor on the East Coast, and support her other daughter who is still attending college.

Players can enter Second-Chance Drawings from some non-winning Scratch tickets on the Lottery’s web site or on the Lottery’s free mobile app. For more information on Second-Chance, visit https://www.coloradolottery.com/en/games/scratch/drawings/
