In today’s ever-busy age of technology, with a constant need to be ready whenever work beckons, having a work-life balance is important.

For many chief executive officers, finding that balance — and encouraging their employees to find it for themselves — isn’t easy.

Here are five specific things I do to encourage a healthy work-life balance.

1. Work hard, play hard

I enjoy this quote from Pat Summitt: “Here’s how I’m going to beat you: I’m going to outwork you. That’s it.”

You need to take your work seriously and still have fun. I continually encourage my team to work a little harder, reach a little farther.
