Chief of Xcel Energy’s Colorado operation is getting promoted

Xcel announced Eves has been named its executive vice president and group president for all its utilities serving customers in eight states, effective March 1.

David Eves, president of Xcel Energy Inc.’s Colorado operations, got a promotion Wednesday — but he’s keeping his current gig for the time being.

Xcel announced Eves has been named its executive vice president and group president for all its utilities serving customers in eight states, effective March 1.

He takes the place of Marvin McDaniel Jr., who announced his plan in October 2017 to retire during the second quarter of 2018.

The announcement said Eves would continue to be president of Colorado operations as well as executive vice president for utilities “at this time.”
