Colorado moves up on 'best states to retire' list

This year, Colorado ranked No. 2 in the health care category, No. 8 on quality of life and No. 23 on affordability.
Last year, Colorado ranked No. 5 on a national "best states to retire" list. Now it's jumped up a few places.

In the past year, Colorado's moved up a few notches on an annual list of "best states to retire."

According to WalletHub, Colorado now ranks as the second-best state in the country to retire, behind only Florida.

A year ago, Colorado ranked No. 5 on the list.

WalletHub said it used criteria including affordability, quality of life and health care when creating its list.

"WalletHub compared the 50 states across 41 key indicators of retirement-friendliness. Our analysis examines affordability, health-related factors and overall quality of life," the company said in a statement.
