The Platte River Power Authority, which serves cities on Colorado’s northern Front Range, is looking for 20 megawatts of new solar power resources — plus the ability to store up to five megawatt-hours worth of power.
The authority issued its request for proposals on Wednesday; bids are due on March 30.
The search for new solar power supplies comes on top of the authority signing a power purchase agreement in January for 150 megawatts of new wind power.
The Platte River Power Authority is a not-for-profit entity that generates and sells power to its owner-customers, the cities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland.
