It looks like 2016 was a good year for Colorado entrepreneurs.

Among the 25 largest states by population, Colorado was among the top five for startup activity, according to the 2017 Kauffman Index on Startup Activity released today.

Kauffman releases a series of studies each year that also look at main street entrepreneurship and growth startups. This report looks at the:

  • Beginnings of entrepreneurship.
  • Rate of new entrepreneurs.
  • Opportunity share of new entrepreneurs.
  • Startup density.
