Denver restaurant chain emerges from bankruptcy

Good news if you love yourself some Macaroni Grill.

Romano's Macaroni Grill officials said their company has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Romano's filed for bankruptcy in October in an effort to try to get out from under leases on closed restaurants. The company moved its headquarters to Denver in 2016.

In a statement, Romano's said it "successfully renegotiated lease terms, vendor contracts and secured $13.5 million in new capital to both fund the restructuring efforts and invest directly in the company in the form of human capital and systems."

"Through the restructuring and turnaround process, the company has firmly re-established itself and the results have been tremendous," said Nishant Machado, CEO, in the statement.
