Cristal Torres DeHerrera, Denver’s deputy city attorney, has been named chief of staff at Denver International Airport.

The position puts her in the No. 2 position behind DIA CEO Kim Day, an airport spokesman said.

DeHerrera replaces Eric Hiraga, who was named Denver’s executive director of the city’s Office of Economic development in August 2017. He talked to the Denver Business Journal's Monica Mendoza in January about changes he plans to make to the office.

DeHerrera was named one of the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees in 2015.

The Chief of Staff position is one of five executive vice president positions at the airport.
