The ads for the new CBS TV series MacGyver use the tag line “Saving the world in style.” As the holidays approach, consider entertaining in style.
This often starts with the wines you open over the holidays.
It’s the obvious choice. Popping of corks says there’s a party going on. If you order in a restaurant, it comes with the ice bucket, linen napkins and flutes.
Entertaining: You want the real stuff. Most have “champagne” printed on the foil. True champagne starts around $ 20 (Trader Joe’s), but most will be in the $30-plus category.
Gift giving: Buy Moet & Chandon or Veuve Cliquot. They have brand recognition. People will be impressed. Expect to pay $45 to $55 a bottle.
