A local tech startup plans to expand and fill 70 new positions over the next year after raising $20 million in venture capital earlier this month.

Boulder-based JumpCloud expects 50 of the new jobs it will create to be in engineering and technical positions.

The five-year-old company raised the $20 million series C round from investors OpenView, a Boston-based firm focused on expansion-stage companies, and Boulder-based Foundry Group, which had previously invested in JumpCloud.

JumpCloud created an online directory that helps clients’ IT managers keep cloud software and their patches up-to-date, and to manage the user access and authentication for various cloud software to which the client subscribes.
