A newly published list of the best cities for job-seekers says markets in the South and the West are where growth and opportunity are concentrated.
Of the top 16 metro areas scored by jobs site Indeed, all of them are in the Sun Belt, and only one city in the top nine is outside Florida, Texas and California.
Indeed calculated scores for 50 U.S. metro areas by looking at four measures: Job market favorability, which Indeed defined as the “ratio of job postings vs. job seeker interest”; salary weighted for cost of living; work/life balance; and job security and advancement rankings.
Two Florida metros top the list: Miami, followed by Orlando. Though neither city scored well for salary, they both scored exceptionally well in the other three categories. Miami, in particular, scored highest among all the other cities on the list for work/life balance and job security and advancement.
