The National Western Stock Show, which launched its 112th run Saturday, says it set a new record for opening-weekend attendance.
The turnstiles clicked 103,546 times on Saturday and Sunday, surpassing the previous opening-weekend record of 97,099, set in 2016, officials said.
Each opening-weekend day set an individual record for attendance as well, of 52,969 and 50,577 respectively.
“We are thrilled with the number of people that came out to celebrate Colorado’s Western heritage and enjoy the many activities, events and sites of [the] stock show,” said Paul Andrews, the show's president and CEO. “We could not have asked for nicer weather to kick off the 112-year-old event.”
