Wells Fargo & Co., Colorado's largest bank, will rehire any workers it fired "inappropriately" for missing sales goals under its previous aggressive sales structure, and will bring in an outside consultant to make sure its new sales culture is up to par, CEO Tim Sloan says.

Sloan and retail banking head Mary Mack made the comments during an investor conference early Thursday. In it, they said that Wells Fargo is moving quickly to put in place new rules for its workers that will prevent the sort of culture that lead to the scandal currently roiling the bank in which millions of accounts were established for customers without their knowledge.
