Homes priced at or near the $500,000 or $1 million mark may be a long-way off for many, but what about those that are closer to the average home price in the Denver metro area?
That's the focus of the final segment of the Denver Business Journal's October series on how much house can be bought at certain price points in the market.
We researched homes available for $400,000 — or less — in 23 metro cities for a look at those closer in value to the average price in today's market. Right now, the average home price in Denver (including both detached and single-family houses and attached condominiums) stands at $396,706, while the median price is at $348,000, according to the Denver Metro Association of Realtors latest report.
Homes in our report have an average 2,441 square feet. Most have 2-car garages and were originally built in 2000 or before. They also may included amenities ranging from finished basements, access to trails and open space and more. Several have either been remodeled or are in brand new construction.
