In today's rental market in metro Denver, a $1,300-per-month budget isn't going to go nearly as far as it used to.

It may get you a studio about a mile away from the city core or a one-bedroom in most suburbs. You can even stretch it to a tiny two-bedroom in far-off communities, if you're lucky.

With average rents for metro Denver standing at about $1,400 per month, today we take a look at just how far renters' dollars could go if they don't have quite that much in their budget, rounding up rentals in 23 metro Denver communities — from Aurora to the east, Golden and Boulder to the west, Castle Rock to the south, Thornton to the north, and everything in between.
