“December 7, 1941. A date which will live in infamy.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt
On Dec. 7, 2016, 75 years to the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, you will have the chance to help honor the Colorado veterans that fought for our freedom, and that of freedom-loving people around the world.
You can make a donation HERE right now.
On Dec. 7, 9NEWS joined with Rocky Mountain Honor Flight in a telethon to raise money to send Colorado veterans to Washington, D.C. There, they will have the opportunity to visit the war memorial honoring their sacrifice, connect with comrades in arms, and receive the recognition of generations of grateful Coloradans.
While donations can be made to honor veterans of all wars, Rocky Mountain Honor Flight gives the highest priority to our aging World War II veterans. It’s estimated that fewer than 15,000 Colorado veterans remain of the less than one million living World War II veterans in the United States. Nearly 500 heroes of that conflict leave us every day. Time is running out.
9NEWS is calling on all Coloradans to help celebrate the “Greatest Generation” by making a tax-deductible contribution to this worthy cause.
