23-year-old woman shot in the head in Aurora dies

Aliyah Jasmine Bonicelli-Stinson's killing has been classified as a homicide, but details surrounding her death have not been released.

The coroner has identified the woman shot in the head while in a vehicle over the weekend.

According to the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office, Aliyah Jasmine Bonicelli-Stinson, 23, died of a gunshot wound to the head on April 8.

At about 5 a.m., police say a man and woman arrived at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora – both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The woman, later identified as Bonicelli-Stinson, died at the hospital, and the man was seriously injured, APD said.

Police say the shooting happened in the area of Mississippi Avenue and Galena Street in Aurora. Bonicelli-Stinson's killing has been classified as a homicide, but details surrounding her death have not been released.
