Eagle County authorities say they’ve identified a suspect who they believe placed multiple traps on a mountain biking trail.

Eight 18-inch wood nail boards were found on a one-mile stretch of informal trail between the popular Red Neck and Pool and Ice routes, according to a news release from the Bureau of Land Management.

Investigators announced that they’d identified a suspect on Monday. They didn’t identify that person, or say what a motive may have been.

BLM Colorado Valley Field Manager Karl Mendonca said in a news release that authorities believe the traps are only isolated to a small stretch of trail.
