Everyone at the University of Denver was ordered to take shelter Wednesday afternoon following a burglary that occurred near campus.

The suspects in the burglary are in custody, according to DU campus safety. The police perimeter centered on high street.

The shelter in place ordered was sent to campus at around 1:20 p.m. and lifted 20 minutes later.

"DUAlert: Shelter in place in an interior room on the lowest possible floor of the building," the alert said. "Stay low. Await instructions."

Campus Safety sent a follow-up message to campus saying its priority is to “provide quick information to protect our community members from further threat.”
