A Lakewood man entered a guilty plea for the 2014 murder of his girlfriend's 4-year old-son Friday morning.

In October of 2014, police received a call that a 4-year-old Jason Ramirez was unresponsive.

The child was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At the time, Ever Lopez-Calidonio told police the toddler said "daddy, daddy" then collapsed in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Neighbors witnessed Lopez-Caldono slapping the child's chest and an autopsy found that Jason had cranial signs of blunt force trauma, rib fractures, lacerated liver, hemorrhages of the kidneys, pancreas, and bowel.

After a two-and-a-half year investigation, Lopez-Calidonio pled guilty to Child Abuse Resulting in Death after stating he had become frustrated with Jason for having "toileting accidents".

Lopez-Calidonio faces 36 to 48 years in prison.
