Man faces attempted murder, arson charges after Greenwood Village fire

Addison Christensen, 22, is being held at the Arapahoe County Detention Center without bond.

A man suspected of starting a fire in Greenwood Village on Saturday is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder of a peace officer.

Firefighters were called to an apartment fire on East Prentice Avenue, near Belleview Avenue and DTC Boulevard just before 4 p.m.

The apartment complex was evacuated, and officers were notified that one person was unaccounted for.

That person was later identified as Addison Christensen, 22. Officers located him about a block away from the apartment fire attempting to start a bush on fire.

He was taken into custody after a short chase on foot, police said.

Christensen is being held without bond at the Arapahoe County Detention Center for attempted murder of a peace officer, first-degree arson and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

He's expected to appear in court on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

No one was injured in the fire.
