A resident caught in last week’s apartment fire has died.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office first responded to a report of domestic disturbance in an apartment in the 4600 block of White Rock Circle just after 3:30 a.m. on April 21.
The 42-year man who lived in the Gunbarrel apartment was found by fire crews with unspecified injuries and hospitalized. Neighbors and the woman who had called 911 were evacuated after deputies realized there was a fire.
He was taken off of life support Wednesday evening and died a little while later.
Boulder County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death. He was identified as Kelly Carter of Boulder.
The fire is still being investigated by detectives as a criminal act.
The people who were displaced by the fire were previously reported as at a nearby community space, and it is not known how many will need to find a new place to live or the amount of damage the apartment building took.
