A man is dead after being shot by officers Saturday morning in Greeley.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Danny Sanchez, reportedly attempted to escape from Greeley officers by ramming his car into an officer's vehicle before driving away.

Officers followed behind and saw Sanchez, who was homeless, point a handgun out of the driver's side window, according to the Greeley Police Department.

Eight minutes later, officers caught up to Sanchez at 1:55 a.m. and shot him when he did not follow instructions. He died on scene.

According to Greeley Police, Sanchez was wanted for two felony warrants, one for a parole violation and another for threatening with a weapon.

Officers spotted him when he was on his way to a mobile home on 1st Street.
