Murder of Denver grandfather unsolved one year later

A retired Marine Major, father and grandfather from Denver was murdered one year ago and the case remains unsolved.

Who murdered Richard "Gene" Hammond?

On Valentine's morning 2017, Hammond left his home near Bruce Randolph and York St. in Denver between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. for work in Fountain.

He was driving his 2012 Subaru Impreza sedan. He never arrived at work.

Hammond and his car were found less than a mile from his home. Hammond was found dead from a gunshot wound.
