Nearby residents were told to be on high alert early Tuesday morning as Parker Police scoured the area for an armed man who they say evaded officers and possibly stole a van.

Parker Police first tweeted about the search at around 2 a.m. They say it started when officers got information about a man who was allegedly coming to Parker to hurt his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

When officers tried to pull him over, they say he didn’t comply and ran away. This prompted them to issue a shelter-in-place notice to people in the Dove Ridge Subdivision as multiple agencies searched for the suspect.

During the search, Parker Police say they received a report that a 1998, school bus yellow passenger van with license plate No. 015-XPM had been stolen.

The shelter-in-place notice has since been lifted since police believe the suspect is no longer in the area.

He has not been identified by name, but is described as a white man who is around 30 years old and 6’1” to 6’2” and 135 pounds with dark brown hair, green eyes and a goatee.

Police say he is armed and dangerous, and if you see him, to call 911.

Police say they're still looking for the stolen van. A photo is below:
