The district attorney is investigating allegations of sexual harassment within the Lake County Sheriff’s Office after a complaint was received in early October.
According to a news release distributed Wednesday afternoon, the DA’s office has been “interviewing witnesses and conducting other activity to determine whether any criminal conduct occurred.”
To date, the DA says no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
When the investigation began, the DA says the Lake County government was notified before the sheriff to “assure the integrity of the … investigation.”
Specific details about the nature of the allegations and who they may involve were not immediately available.
The DA did not have a timetable for when the investigation would be completed.
