DENVER — Denver police have lifted a shelter in place notice for residents of a Denver neighborhood after taking a domestic violence suspect into custody.

The shelter in place notice went out to residents in the area of the 5900 block of W Hampden Ave, west of Sheridan Blvd, just before 3 p.m. Saturday. Police tweeted just before 8 p.m. that it had been lifted, and that the arrest was conducted without incident.

A spokesperson for the Denver Police Department didn't know whether the suspect was armed and didn't have any information about the domestic violence incident.

According to police, it is recommended that residents stay in their homes while a shelter in place notice is in effect.
