Classes were canceled at Berthoud High School Thursday after a body was found inside the school.

Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a missing person in Berthoud early Thursday.

Deputies learned a teenage boy had left his home and his parents were concerned for his safety. They reported he may have gone to Berthoud High School.

When deputies arrived at Berthoud High School, they found an open door.

The body of a teenage boy was found inside the school, which is located at 850 Spartan Avenue. It is not known at this time where he was found inside the school.

The boy's name and cause of death are not being released at this time.

There is no known threat to the school, students, staff, or others in the area. The school will remain closed on Friday as well, according to the school's website.
