Local Girl Scouts trying to pass smoking ordinance

The Girl Scouts are trying to pass an ordinance banning adults from smoking in the car when minors are with them.

A group of Girl Scouts from Aurora are working to pass a city ordinance to prevent people from smoking when there are minors in the car with them.

They’ll appear in front of the Aurora City Council on Monday and at this point, say they have a lot of support from the community.

Two of the girls in group, Julianna Martin and Makenna Batcho, joined us on 9NEWS Friday morning along with their troop leader, Kirsten Batcho and Kathleen Moreria, a tobacco educator at UCHealth.
