Front Range Dermatology alerts patients to data breach

Information included patients' full names and health and insurance information, but did not include Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, or credit card or bank information, according to a notice from Front Range Dermatology Associates.

THE COLORADOAN - A Northern Colorado dermatology practice is alerting some patients that some of their personal health information was breached on Jan. 12.

Front Range Dermatology Associates notified patients March 7 that a terminated employee had improperly acquired a list of patients who had been seen at the practice the previous six months, by way of another employee.

Front Range Dermatology has practices in Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland and Fort Morgan.

Only those patients who were seen by the former employee and for whom FRDA had received payment during the six-month period had any information compromised in the incident, FRDA said in a statement.
