Deputies in Montrose County are joining other law enforcement agencies across the country in stocking their patrol vehicles with naloxone, a drug that can help or even reverse the effects of a heroin overdose.

The vehicles also have automated external defibrillators.

Four people have died from heroin overdoses in Montrose County this year.

According to a news release from the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, deputies have received training in using naloxone over the past few months.
