Douglas County continues to be the healthiest county in Colorado, according to an annual ranking of the state’s political subsidiaries released Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Costilla County continues to be its least healthy, as the rankings again showed a strong correlation between low-poverty areas and high-health areas — and vice versa — in the Centennial State.
The rankings come from the annual 2018 County Health Rankings report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Douglas is followed by Boulder County, Broomfield County, Routt County and Eagle County.
Jefferson County ranked 11th among the 58 Colorado counties that produced enough information to be measured against the others, while Arapahoe County was 16th, Adams County 36th and Denver County 38th.
