Workout Wednesday: Movement assessment with technology

When preparing for workouts, wouldn't it be nice to know what parts of your body are struggling today?

Repetition, consistency, and patterns are paramount to success in the fitness world.

Want to get results? Repeat movements like squats, lunges, pushups, and rows. Toss in some cardio and repeat for a successful path to a new body.

When it comes to preparing our body for movement, we must adapt to the way our body feels each day.

Lugging the kids around town yesterday puts a unique strain on the body and the next day you may feel that strain.

Likewise, running a lap or two around Wash Park is going to create a different strain, and so on.

When preparing for workouts, wouldn't it be nice to know what parts of your body are struggling today?

Historically it has taken us fitness professionals upwards of an hour to observe a client's movement patterns, deficiencies, and strains.

Then we outline a series of exercises, movements, and stretches that address those shortcomings.

It’s a bit of time, time most of us don't have.

Enter: TRX MAPS.

MAPS is a digital movement assessment tool that scores an athlete in 4 categories: Movement, Activation, Posture, and Symmetry.

Scored 0-100, MAPS identifies where we are struggling and then provides us an exercise in each category to improve our score!

An informed athlete will scan pre-workout, perform the prescribed movements (stretches) and then rescan, thus completing the body feedback cycle.

Doing this each day, prior to working out, helps us avoid injury, receive the full benefits of the workout, and helps our bodies feel more alive through movement

Through February 10, all Workout Wednesday viewers can come to e3 Fitness and scan on the MAPS System for free!

The scan takes only 30 seconds, you need no special training or clothing. Simply perform 3 squats while our system tracks your movement.

To schedule your complimentary MAPS Scan, email askcoach@e3-fitness.com. Scans are provided Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
