A man was found Sunday morning shot inside a King Soopers at the corner of Green Valley Ranch Boulevard and Tower Road, authorities say.

Denver Police responded to the grocery store shortly before 11 a.m. and found a vehicle that may have been related in a nearby neighborhood and started following it, a spokesperson for the law enforcement agency tells 9NEWS.

As they were following it, DPD says a man matching the description of the shooter hopped out of the car and fled into the neighborhood near 56th and Blackhawk.

A homeowner in the area called police and said someone broke into his home by deception - that person is now in custody, authorities say. DPD is still working to figure out how he deceived his way inside.

Police are now trying to figure out if the person who got into that home is the same as the person who shot someone at a King Soopers.

"Our officers in conjunction with our SWAT team made contact at that residence and the party came out peacefully," said Tyrone Campbell, a Denver Police technician. "We're still working on exactly what appeared, but it doesn't appear the person entered the home by force."

They say they don't think there is anyone still on the run since the shooting, so it's likely the shooting suspect.

The injured person has injuries that aren't threatening their life, police say.

It is not clear if the shooting happened inside or outside the King Soopers.
