2 goats born on same farm where 5 were stolen last year

Mama Audrey Asiago clearly thought rainy weather was the perfect time to bring two little ones into this world.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — It might have been a gray, rainy start to the day across the Front Range, but there was a silver lining for at least one mom — goat mom, that is.

Two little gems, both males, were born early Saturday morning to Audrey Asiago. She resides at Five Fridges Farm in Wheat Ridge.

You may remember that farm from late last year, when five goats went missing after the gate to their pen was tampered with. Investigators said at the time they suspected the goats were taken intentionally. (Crime Stoppers offered a $2,500 reward for information on the missing goats' whereabouts.)

Amanda Weaver, owner of Five Fridges Farm, said those five goats have not been recovered, but, thanks to donations from the community, she has replaced them with four new male goats.

"You don't think about people stealing goats you're herding," Weaver said. "There was a great outpouring of support" from the community.

One of the replacements is the father of the two goats born Saturday. Weaver said she has put GPS trackers in all her goats.

Weaver said she expects at least a few more sets of baby goats this year.

Five Fridges Farm is located at 11100 W. 38th Ave. in Wheat Ridge.
