Two children, ages 3 and 6, and a man were shot in Denver's Montbello neighborhood late Saturday night off 51st and Titan, police say.
Denver Police are still investigating the shooting which happened around 9:30 p.m. Investigators are now searching for a white sedan they believe is connected to the shooting.
All three victims were taken to area hospitals with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, according to police.
Family of the victims says the shooting was a random drive-by and they were sitting in their front yard when it happened.
"They just pulled out the gun and started shooting," Giovani Herrada said.
It was Herrada's brother, six-year-old niece and three-year-old nephew who were shot. The gunshots hit his brother's foot, his niece's leg and his nephew's head.
Despite now having seven staples in his head, Herrada's nephew was once again in the front yard playing Sunday evening while still wearing his hospital gown and a Denver police badge sticker.
"He was just really scared but he wouldn't cry," Herrada said.
While the toddler tries not to think about his head, the rest of the family is still scratching theirs wondering who's responsible.
"Hopefully they find them so they can get arrested or something," Herrada said.
Even with the perpetrators still on the loose, the Herrada family continues to play in their front yard -- the same place where the tragic shooting happened the night before. Following his brave nephew's lead, Herrada said his family won't let something like this scare them.
